First Alert-Frost Risk: Patchy frost will be possible north of the Triangle tonight/Wednesday morning. Areas of frost will be more likely Thursday morning in the Triangle and north as temps drop into the mid/upper 30s with lighter winds.
Good Tuesday morning! A dry cold front will pass today. This’ll keep conditions cooler than average through midweek. The dry air, coupled with breezy conditions, will bring an elevated fire threat for the area through at least tomorrow.
Out-the-door temps are in the upper 30s to mid 40s for most. Highs will be in the mid/upper 60s under mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures tonight and tomorrow night along the North Carolina-Virginia state line will be in the low to mid 30s, which could lead to some frost in those areas. Temps will drop into the mid/upper 30s in the Triangle Wednesday night/Thursday morning, which may lead to patchy frost.
High pressure will shift offshore Thursday, leading to winds from the east. This’ll draw highs closer to 70 Thursday afternoon.
Temperatures will continue to climb through the weekend, leading to weekend highs in the low to mid 80s and lows in the 50s.
Dry weather is expected through the middle of the month, which will likely allow drought conditions to worsen.
High pressure will build into next weekend, leading to highs near 90 by the middle of next week.
Have a great day!
