Mar. 28—March 28, 2016 — Red Lake Tribal Chairman Darrell Seki Sr. noted at the annual State of the Band address that a future of clean energy is ahead. A three-phase solar power project has been formalized; the first phase is the development of $20 to $30 million in equipment and workforce training.
March 28, 2001 — Bemidji State is set to unveil its new logo and mascot images, replacing the current logo, which shows three pine trees and a sun. The current BSU logo was created and adopted in 1974 when the school name was changed from Bemidji State College to Bemidji State University.
March 28, 1976 — Three Bemidji men have been arrested after a fight with police officers at BHS. The complaint alleges that the men went to the high school around midnight when a dance was underway, and tried to enter the school through a bathroom window after officers turned them away.
March 28, 1926 — Magnus Johnson, former United States senator from Minnesota, was endorsed as a candidate for governor at the state convention of the Farmer-Labor association in St. Paul. The Farmer-Labor platform also declared to raise occupational tax on iron ore mined in Minnesota from 6 to 10%.
